The Center of Gravity (CoG) is the geometric property of the putter. The CoG can be projected perpendicular to the face, and help to define the location of sweet-spot. The CoG can affect the launch conditions as well. Blade-style putters have a CoG closer to face with better feel & control, Square-type putters have deepest CoG for best tolerance and promote more ascending rise angle, and Mallet-style lies in between the two. Deeper CoG reduces off-target launch with off-center hits and lower CoG create upward rise angle which in turn promote forward roll.
